A Gin For All Occasions!

We’re all about experimenting at the Isle of Barra Distillers and over the years we’ve tried our Island Spirit in many variations. I’m sure we can all agree that nothing beats the classic Gin & Tonic but it’s all down to the setting at the end of the day.
Some of our favourite ways to enjoy our Barra Atlantic Gin include;
GIN ON THE ROCKS, ON THE ROCKS!
The prime spot for a Barra Gin has to be neat on the rocks while sitting on the rocks. We recommend strolling down to the west side to experience Barra’s most beautiful beaches where you can capture the most incredible sunset in all of Scotland. Mesmerise the Atlantic waves crash onto our rugged coast while sipping our Island Spirit by the campfire.
A LIVELY LOCAL DRAM
Nothing beats a G&T on the homeland with old friends over traditional tunes. We may not have a nightclub but we certainly have a dancefloor or two! A couple of Barra G&T’s and you’ll be sure to dance the night away with the encouragement of live music in the vicinity.
THE UNPLANNED G&T (THE BEST KIND)
We’ve all been there…we’ve all had a spontaneous Gin & Tonic poured with the good intentions of leaving it at that. The next thing you know, your many Gin’s down and the head is a little sore the following morning. This is always the best version of our Island Spirit and the most fun!
SOPHISTICATED GIN
Sitting at a trendy cocktail bar, drinking Gin based cocktails with friends is always a wonderful way to enjoy our Gin. Recently we had new cocktail creations made by the fantastic team at Hemingway’s Edinburgh for our bar takeover, I’m sure you’ll find one or two which will take your fancy! And while we are unable to do so at this time, why not try these at home?
The Old Man and the Sea – Barra Gin, Chartreuse & Lillet Blanc
Hebridean Sour – Barra Gin, Lemon, Egg White, Gomme, Pink Grapefruit & Thyme
Island Bliss – Barra Gin, Campari, Orgeat, Pineapple & Lime
Drew Barra-more – Barra Gin, Raspberry, Kiwi, Apple & Coconut
WIND DOWN SUNDAY GIN
Sunday is our favourite day of the week here at the Isle of Barra Distillers. It’s a day of rest with no distractions and it’s all about quality family time! An aperitif of our recommended serve (Barra Gin on ice, a splash of Walter Gregor’s Tonic Water and a wedge of pink/red grapefruit) before the roast dinner is served on the table is a classic and our personal much-loved occasion! It concludes the busy week and relaxing day of rest to a T!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers for their continued support at this uncertain time, we are beyond grateful and overwhelmed by the response we have received. We are doing our best behind the scenes to ensure you receive our Island Spirit from our Distillery on Barra to the comfort of your own home!
We hope that this weeks Journal was the refreshing read, which we all need during this time.
Take care and stay safe,
Isle of Barra Distillers
