Award Winning October

Award Winning October
Break out the warm jumpers, cosy blankets and the G&Ts as October has brought some very wintry weather to Barra. Our distillery shop moved to its winter opening hours as traffic to and from the island slows but we are busier than ever behind the scenes in our lovely, cosy distillery.
We have lots of amazing things happening and this month and we hit the ground running with Debbie, our Senior Administrative Assistant joining our local photographer Stephen Kearney of Little Day Productions for several exciting photoshoots in Glasgow. Check out some of the results of their awesome work...
One of the particularly exciting photoshoots was for ROX Jewellery who we are delighted to join in partnership with as the exclusive gin brand partner in their boutiques.
This is an amazing collaboration with our Barra Atlantic Gin with its seventeen specially selected botanicals, including organically grown carrageen seaweed hand-harvested from the shores of Barra is the perfect touch to any ROX shopping experience. ROX customers can indulge in a complimentary glass of our premium award-winning Gin while enjoying your Diamonds and Thrills at all ROX boutiques across the UK.

Another highlight of this month is we have a new member of the team. We would like to introduce to you our fantastic new Social Media Specialist, Shona Gray.
Shona is Barra born and bred and like many others left the island after school for further education and work. Having studied Graphic Design Shona had many happy years working in the design industry in Glasgow. Now she is ecstatic to move back home and join our Barra Gin family.
It is the people that live here on the Island of Barra that are at the forefront of what we aim to achieve with the Isle of Barra Distillers. We are so proud to offer a talented local the opportunity to work and develop their skills with us.

We were over the moon to hear we won Off The Beaten Path Award. It means a lot and shows us all our hard work must be working. We are so grateful to Journal and their voters for this recognition.
It was our dream to have our own distillery on the island and above everything else it was about both giving something back to our beautiful island and putting the Isle of Barra on the ‘gin map’ that drives us forward. We feel we owe it to the island and its people - we have the opportunity to do something great and that is what we are going to do.
