This week we have teamed up with the wonderful Andrew, from The Gin Den and Annabel, from The Gin Judge to lift people’s spirits by collaborating on a Barra Gin Giveaway!

Andrew and Annabel were one of the first people in the drinks industry that our Brand Ambassador Debbie met after she began her role of working with us. We’re pleased to share that they did indeed meet under the influence of Gin at the glamorous Gin Award’s which was held at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow last October. Since then we have kept in touch over social media and see each other at regular Gin Events.

To give a bit of background on The Gin Den and The Gin Judge for those of you that haven’t followed their journey on social media yet, we’d like to share it with you.

Andrew founded The Gin Den Blog and Social Media pages in January 2018. As a passionate Gin enthusiast his vision was to share his love of Gin by increasing awareness of the smaller brands and supporting distillers as they launched their Gin. In the time since The Gin Den was created, Andrew has built organic interest from Gin lovers across the world at the same time as building strong relationships with distillers as he seeks to drive interest and growth in the UK Gin market. A keen photographer he has combined his love of Gin with his camera to create some stunning images of Gin brands, taken in some unusual places and over the last 12 months he’s visited distillers from Cornwall to the Cairngorms. His philosophy is 'keep your G&T relatively simple and savour the flavour that the distillers worked hard to perfect'

Born in Edinburgh, Andrew now lives in Cheshire and has over 25 years’ experience working in senior roles in the Retail and Leisure industry, his career gives him a strong customer perspective when he reviews Gins, Gin Retailers, Bars and Restaurants.

Andrew believes that not enough leisure and retail businesses are showcasing the amazing range of Scottish Gins that are arriving on the market each month, and are instead sticking with the safer mainstream options. His view is that this has to change through small steps to ensure we can fully support this growth in the Scottish Gin industry.

When not drinking Gin, Andrew’s second spirit of choice is Single Cask Scotch Malt Whisky.

Now for Annabel, The Gin Judge - The concept of the ‘The Gin Judge’ combines her personal love for gin and work life as a Solicitor and aspiring Judge.

Annabel spent the early stages of her career working in the hospitality industry, predominately for the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex. It was actually when working in the Dukes Box at their race course, that she fell in love with gin.

Since then, her personal gin collection has grown to approximately 120 bottles. If she’s not drinking coffee to survive Solicitor life, then you can find her with a gin in hand. A huge part of this is about blogging and reviewing gin on The Gin Judge Instagram account, but she is also an advocate for gin events including Junipalooza, Gin Live, Gin to My Tonic and Sussex Gin Festival. Further to this, Annabel has made it her mission to visit as many distilleries as she can in her spare time.

It’s a journey that started out in 2015, made its way onto social media in 2019 and continues to grow…
