Here’s to Live Music, Great Food and Collaborations at Crofters’!

This week the snow thankfully stayed away long enough for us to meet the lovely Ealána from Crofters Music Bar & Bistro located on the Isle of Arran. Ealána had been stranded in Glasgow for days due to bad weather and cancelled ferries and was able to meet us for coffee, every cloud and all that! Now Ealána is not to be messed with when it comes to coffee, this woman takes a 4-shot coffee like it’s a glass of milk! The thought of 4-shots keeps us awake for days, never mind drinking it.

Crofters’ Music Bar & Bistro is a new stockist of our Barra Atlantic Gin, although they have always been a fan of our Island Spirit since our first release in 2017. We are delighted to be sitting in good company at Crofters alongside fellow Island Gins for locals and visitors to enjoy throughout the year. We are going to be working closely with Ealána and the team and have very exciting announcements to come, including a trip over to Arran next month where we will share our story and our spirit with the rest of the Crofters team.

Crofters' is a cosy wee bistro specialising in home-cooked food, Scottish Craft Beers and Spirits, along with regular live music on the Isle of Arran. Previously known as Fiddlers', Crofters’ has earned a reputation for being quirky, innovative, entertaining, and welcoming. It was established by Arran local Dónal Boyle in March 2014, who is also an accomplished musician and businessman, with a passion for local food and drink.

The first few years were a challenge, as Dónal and his family cut their teeth in hospitality but the drive behind the establishment of the business always came from providing first class food and service, with accompanying live, acoustic music.

After five seasons’ trading, it became apparent that the Fiddlers’ brand was limiting in it’s representation of the whole hospitality offering, so the decision was taken to rebrand to Crofters’, which fully encompasses the tradition.

“To apply a modern and progressive approach to traditional Scottish hospitality, with a commitment to an authentic and sustainable lifestyle on a Scottish Island.”

With a balanced representation of all aspects of the business, “Crofters’ “enabled the business to be driven and flourish under management of eldest daughter, Ealána.

Crofters mission is to become a world-class national landmark by offering the best food, service and musical experience in Scotland.

The musical entertainment is provided by a small army of incredibly talented artists, performing a vast array of musical genres: from folk, to bluegrass and Americana, country and contemporary pop, blues, jazz and self-penned material. The majority of their musicians are Arran locals who are regularly assisted by colleagues from Glasgow with the occasional touring bands looking for an extra special intimate gig en route!

It doesn’t end here for Crofters, did I mention they also have Tall Ship Cruises throughout the summer months, visiting the Scottish Isles and sampling local produce and Gin along the way? What’s not to love about this?

We are so looking forward to working with Crofters and teaming up on exciting collaborations which we are desperate to share with you in the near future!
