International G&T Day | 5 G&Ts With a Twist

October 19th is International Gin and Tonic Day (National Gin & Tonic Day also falls in April… What can we say, some things are worth celebrating twice!) Rather than opting for the classic serve we all know and love, we’ve complied some ideas to help you celebrate in style with 5 twists on the classic G&T.
Strawberry and Black Pepper G&T
Ingredients:
- 50ml Barra Atlantic Gin
- 3 Strawberries, sliced
- Black peppercorns and a grinder
- Tonic water (we love Walter Gregor's Tonic for this one)
Method:
Pour the gin in the glass along and add in the slices of strawberry.
Fill the glass with ice and grind in some black pepper.
Pour in the tonic water, lightly stir and garnish with an extra strawberry!
Blood Orange G&T
Ingredients:
- 50ml Barra Atlantic Gin
- 60ml fresh blood orange juice
- A few dashes of orange bitters
- 120ml tonic water
Method
Fill your glass (we used a highball glass) with ice. Pour in your gin, juice and orange bitters.
Top with the tonic water and gently stir.
Garnish with blood orange slice and enjoy!
Jam G&T
Ingredients:
- 50ml Barra Atlantic Gin
- Around 200ml tonic water
- Juice from ½ lemon
- A large spoonful of jam (raspberry or blueberry tends to work best)
- Frozen fruit to serve
Method:
Place the gin, jam and lemon juice in a Boston shaker, fill with ice and shake well.
Pour the shaken ingredients into a tumbler with some of the ice cubes from the shaker and pour in the tonic water.
Stir gently and garnish with frozen fruit!
Chili G&T
Ingredients:
- 50ml Barra Atlantic Gin
- 1 small chili
- A quarter of a lime, cut into wedges
- Tonic water
Method
Slice your chili in half, remove the seeds and drop it in your glass. Mash it lightly with a muddler or wooden spoon.
Squeeze in the lime wedges and pour in the gin with some chunks of ice.
Top off with tonic water before lightly stirring.
Cucumber and Rosemary G&T
Ingredients:
- 50ml Barra Atlantic Gin
- 1 cucumber, peeled lengthways into strips
- 6 wedges of lime
- 2 sprigs of rosemary
- 100ml tonic water
Method
Add two cucumber slices, the juice from the lime wedges, a spring of rosemary and the gin into a Boston shaker and muddle well.
Pour the ingredients through a strainer into a tall glass, fill with ice cubes and top with tonic.
Garnish with rosemary sprigs and cucumber slices and enjoy!
