We're delighted to share some exciting news, Isle of Barra Distillers is launching in the USA.
From June 2026, our award-winning spirits will be available in more than 25 states across America, including key markets such as New York, Massachusetts and Texas. It's a huge milestone for our small island distillery and one we've been working towards for a long time.
Even better, our launch coincides with Scotland's return to the World Cup for the first time in 27 years. As Scottish fans make their way across the Atlantic, we're looking forward to giving them a wee taste of home and introducing even more people to the spirit of Barra.
What started in 2017 as a dream for husband-and-wife founders Michael and Katie Morrison has grown into Scotland's most westerly distillery, with our spirits now enjoyed in 10 countries around the world. Despite our growth, everything we create is still inspired by the island we call home.
Every bottle of Isle of Barra Gin captures a little piece of Barra, from the wild Atlantic coastline to the sustainably hand-harvested carrageen seaweed that gives our gin its distinctive character. Our Hebridean Vodka and Island Dark Rum are also crafted in Castlebay, where our team continues to produce spirits with the same care and attention as when we first opened our doors.
"This is one of the biggest moments in our journey so far," says Michael Morrison, Co-Founder and CEO of Isle of Barra Distillers. "International growth has always been an important part of our plans, so we're incredibly proud to be launching in the United States. It's a challenging time for the drinks industry, which makes this achievement even more special.
"Launching in the same month Scotland returns to the World Cup feels particularly fitting. Every bottle we produce carries the essence of Barra – its landscape, its community and its spirit. We hope Scottish fans travelling to the US can enjoy a taste of home, while new customers discover what makes our island and our spirits so special."
We're also excited to be partnering with Total Wine & More, helping bring our products to hundreds of retail locations and customers across the country.
For a distillery founded on a small island in the Outer Hebrides, this is a proud moment. We can't wait to share Barra with America and raise a glass to the adventures ahead.
Slàinte!
