ISLE OF BARRA DISTILLERS CLUB
The Isle of Barra Distillers club is an opportunity to invite you to be part of our Family Distillery, to be part of our story & to make a positive impact & leave a lasting legacy for our Island home here on the Isle of Barra.
With our choice of holding back on any 'pre-cask sale', joining our Isle of Barra Distillers Club is the only way to secure not just one bottle but five of the first whiskies that we release from our upcoming Single Malt Whisky Distillery. A true landmark moment that can only be marked with a whisky that will only be released when we feel is ready to carry the name Barra!
The Isle of Barra is renewed with whisky, with the obvious connection to the famous Whisky galore, but we have much more than just that to offer. Our whisky will be a true reflection of our island home, it will carry a piece of barra in every bottle.
We are all about making a
positive contribution to our island
community. Making life on Barra
more sustainable. Living, as we
do, in such a remote location is
not always easy, and many young
people often leave the island in
search of greater opportunities.
Most of our team did it – we’re
very glad to have been able to
return.
We hope our distillery will help
reverse this trend. Creating
attractive jobs and enabling
people to thrive without leaving
for the mainland and beyond is
just one part of it.
In 2021, we established the Isle of
Barra Whisky Distillers
Foundation.
Each year we will
donate 1% of the total net profits
back into the local community,
who will present their desired
projects to us - it could be
anything from a new kids
playpark to a facility for the
elderly. Our shareholders will
vote on the selection of the
project that will benefit the island
best.
By Year 13, or once our 10-year-
old malt is released, we hope for
the Foundation to be in a position
to build six affordable homes for
sale at cost price to young
families. This will make it easier
for people to live on Barra and
contribute to the long-term
sustainability of our island
community.
We feel we owe it to the Island and to the community. We have the opportunity to do something great and that is exactly what we’re going to achieve. Creating opportunities that not only we can be proud of but the whole of the Isle of Barra can be proud of.
We thrive to increase employment and fresh hope for the youth of our island.
Giving back to the Island that has provided both us and our distillery with so much pride.
