Hebridean Honey Vodka: A Taste of the Isles

From the shores of Barra, where wild heather and sea-thrift bloom beside the Atlantic, comes a spirit unlike any other. We're thrilled to announce the launch of our Hebridean Honey Vodka, a flavoured vodka spirit that captures the gentle sweetness of our island home, distilled with care and infused with the character of the Outer Hebrides.
A True Barra Partnership
At Isle of Barra Distillers, provenance isn't just a word - it's our promise. That's why we've partnered with our neighbours at Bee Bharraigh Honey, a family-led team of local Barra beekeepers whose hives thrive in the untouched beauty right here on our island. Their raw honey, harvested by hand from bees that forage among Barra's wild flowers, forms the heart of our newest creation.
But this partnership goes deeper than simply sourcing local ingredients. Barraidh Honey is on a mission to bring back black bees to the islands, helping return flowering richness to our Hebridean landscape. Their wild hives are buzzing life back into the blooms that have coloured these shores for generations - and now, that story lives in every bottle.
Island Craft, Island Character
Hebridean Honey Vodka is delicately bottled at a lower ABV, creating a spirit that's smooth, light and naturally sweet. Designed for slow evening sips and moments worth savouring. This isn't just about creating another flavoured vodka; it's about capturing the essence of Barra in liquid form all while championing the provenance of our little island.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Soft heather, wildflowers, and raw honeycomb carried on a salty coastal breeze. Palate: Silky and rounded, with golden honey, waxy florals, and a subtle thread of sea salt that speaks to our island origins. Finish: Clean, lingering, and gently warming - recalling sun-warmed driftwood and the quiet hush of the isles.
How to Enjoy
Serve well-chilled. Sip slowly. Let the Hebrides linger.
The beauty of this vodka lies in its simplicity - the honey's natural sweetness and floral complexity shine brightest when the spirit is enjoyed neat over some ice.
Alternatively, served with premium cloudy apple juice and plenty of ice.
From our island to yours, we can't wait for you to taste the Hebrides.
